Stew Crew
February 12 | 9:00 am – 11:00 am
This workday will consist of cutting and treating the stems of this shrubby invasive species. The stems are usually tiny enough that you can use hand clippers, but loppers work well for their added reach. Last time, we found it was even possible to pull some of these plants out entirely by the roots! If you’ve never been to a Stew Crew before, this will be a great one to learn a new species, get some fresh air, and hear the chickadees calling.
When & Where: Thursday, February 12, from 9 to 11 AM at the Wiebrecht property. Parking is available on the shoulder of Oak Lodge Rd, just past the intersection with German Village Rd, West Bend WI 53095.
Bring: A pair of work gloves (thick leather gloves will work well, barberry stems are prickly). If you have a favorite pair of loppers or clippers, feel free to bring them along but we will provide these as well.
