LOCATION CHANGED:
Due to the rain Thursday, we will be switching gears a bit for Stew Crew. Because of the weather we cannot treat any stumps we cut with herbicide, so Thursday will be tree tube maintenance at Rolfs. These are the tubes on the 500 trees that were planted last year in the back 1 acre field (Not the 15,000 planted by MMSD).
Maintenance will just consist of lifting the tubes and brushing out and buildup of debris or leaf litter and hammering in any loose stakes. This is a good time of year to do this to give the trees their best shot at growth! The only thing you will need to bring is some work gloves (and maybe a rain jacket).
Parking will be along scenic drive; you can find the property at the intersection of Scenic Dr. and Deer Ridge Dr. in West Bend. See attached photo, feel free to call if you have any questions on location.
